- Air samples will be taken – these can be analyzed in a number of ways. The commonest method is by using a “spore trap”. The sample collected is referred to as “spore trap sample”. These traps have a sticky medium within them that capture the particles.
- The trap will then be sent to a specialized mold testing laboratory where it will be analyzed
- The quantities & types of mold spores that have been captured in the course of the sampling process will be tested
- We also use surface samples. These can be taken in a number of different ways. The most common methods are:
- Bulk samples
- Swab samples
- Tape samples
Once these surface samples are sent to the Mold Testing laboratory, there are a number of ways in which they can be analyzed. The sample will then be evaluated for any evidence of mold growth.
